Installs sign components such as sign cabinets, pylons, pole covers and other custom made sign assemblies. Performs a variety of installation operations such as welding, bolting, and installing wall anchors. Utilizes hand tools, power tools and other special equipment to perform assigned job. Pours concrete footers and mounts steel support poles. Must be able to safely operate mobile crane and ladder equipment. Generally works as a member of a work team, and helps train less experienced workers. Possesses a good understanding of the entire sign manufacturing process, and interacts with other departments to solve special installation problems. Often refers to technical drawings and engineering notes. Responsible for checking quality of own work. A Class B CDL drivers license is required. Represents the Company, and builds good customer relationships while on-site.

-ENTRY LEVEL-

 Use of hand tools
 Use of common power tools
 Able to use a shovel to dig holes for concrete footers
 Use of power operated truck mounted crane and ladder
 Able to accurately measure and cut metal, plastic, wire, fabric, etc.
 Able to assemble parts to form complete signs
 Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions in English and read shop drawings
 Basic electrical wiring knowledge and skills
 Able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted
 Able to work outside in the Florida climate
 Able to climb ladders and work at heights
 Must be able to cooperate and work well with others in a team environment
 Able to keep work area organized, neat and clean
 Maintain a neat and presentable appearance at all times

-EXPERIENCED-

 Has good customer interface and communication skills
 Has experience in mounting and wiring neon transformers and fluorescent ballasts
 Has experience in fitting and mounting neon glass in channel letters
 Can modify a sign cabinet or raceway on site if required
 Is proficient in MIG, Stick, and Acetylene welding
 Can pour and level concrete sign footers
 Able to resolve unique installation problems involving any kind of wall surface, unusual pole covers, and the use of wood, stucco, plastic and other special sign materials
 Able to mount channel letters on sign cabinet or raceway
 Able to mount and stretch flexible faces on site
 Additional skills might include other sign trades such as fabrication, plastic, vinyl, channel, or awnings, as well as self-motivation, leadership, and communication skills
