Advice for a new serviced based shop in OKC - drumming up business

Posted on Tue, 11 Oct 2016 at 13:23

Looking for some advice from the more seasoned shop owners.
Little history on me. Almost 19 years in the trade, and recently left my old employer to venture out on my own. So my wife (a disabled veteran) and I got our LLC, and got the ball rolling.
We have the truck, the equipment, plotter and flexi 12. All the standard fare, and now we need the phone to start ringing.

What would be anyone's best guess at the best way to start drumming up service calls, and wall cabinet / channel letter jobs ?

thanks in advance
Mike

Two words...night patrol. Drive with your wife at night, photograph signs with outages and go see the owners the next morning with the photo. Lots of businesses don't even realize they have an outage. This is the fastest way to get service business that you can actually get paid for in a timely manner. You can also let all the national sign companies know of your availability, but be prepared to carry the invoices for 45-90 plus days before you get paid. Good luck.
