Heiress Hilton fumes over “Vacant” Auckland Billboard

In the past, Paris Hilton has conveyed few reservations about promoting her vacuous, party-girl image. Her reality-TV and commercial appearance, as well as her well-documented nightclub outings (for which she’s often paid), have cemented her persona in the public consciousness. However, she’s reportedly upset at Media5, a New Zealand-based billboard vendor, for using her likeness with output permission to market vacant board space.

Media5, which had reportedly recently doubled its billboard inventory, used a photo of Hilton for billboard with “Vacant” printed prominently to promote an available billboard – and make an obvious double-entendre about Hilton’s image.

However, Hilton’s objection isn’t about content; she asserts Media5 used the image without her consent. A Media5 spokesman claims he received the photo from a friend’s ad agency and believed it had been approved for commercial use. If Hilton’s attorneys bring forth litigation, perhaps a new reality show will ensue: “Paris Attacks.”
