Philips Lighting and AdVantage Sign use an EMC to greet, honor and entertain employees.
AdVantage Sign (Belleville, KS) recently designed, built and installed and EMC for Philips Lighting, a fluorescent-lamp manufacturing facility in Salina, KS. The sign utilizes a Daktronics Inc. 20mm Galaxy Pro full-color display in a support structure that mimics the employee-entrance architecture. The top, fluorescent cabinet is illuminated by Advance (a Philips company) ballasts.
Located in a large field, directly adjacent to the employee ballfield and recreation area, the EMC acknowledges new hires, employees of the month, safety records, safety practices and plant accomplishments. The company plans to screen a movie on the display after an employee picnic this summer.
Nic Colgrove, a Philips IT specialist, and his team were sold on the benefits the display had on the employees shortly after it was installed. As one of the largest employers in Kansas, Philips is proud of its employees and the importance they play in the largest fluorescent-lamp facility in the world.
